Packaging and Compliance Information pursuant to Regulation (EU) 2025/40

As part of the current regulatory requirements, we are addressing the provisions of Regulation (EU) 2025/40 on packaging and packaging waste.

We are currently preparing to provide packaging-related information via QR code. In future, this will allow relevant information to be made available digitally, in a structured and transparent format.

1. General requirements

When selecting and designing our packaging, we take particular account of reducing the amount of packaging material used, as well as recyclability and packaging design principles that support a circular economy.

2. Material composition

When selecting packaging materials, we consider their recyclability and, where technically appropriate and feasible, use materials that meet these requirements.

3. Recyclability and disposal

When designing our packaging, we take into account both its recyclability and the intended disposal routes. The appropriate disposal method depends on the material and type of packaging. Depending on the specific design, this may include established collection and recovery systems, such as the Yellow Bin system, as well as industrial composting for packaging that is suitable for this process.

Please observe the applicable national waste disposal requirements.

4. Substance-related requirements

For the packaging materials we use, we take into account the relevant substance-related requirements and limit values set out in the Regulation and consider the available information and supporting documentation provided by our suppliers.

5. Ongoing adaptation

We continue to monitor regulatory developments and gradually adapt our packaging and processes to the requirements applicable at the relevant time.

Frequently Asked Questions about PPWR

Brand.it does not issue a general PPWR declaration of conformity covering all products, packaging, packaging types or shipments. Under the PPWR, the EU declaration of conformity relates to the relevant packaging and is not generally prepared separately for every SKU or individual shipment.

The required documentation is prepared and retained in accordance with the applicable legal requirements. The PPWR does not provide for the automatic supply of the EU declaration of conformity to customers. Any statutory information and document-production obligations remain unaffected.

Technical documentation forms part of the conformity assessment for the relevant packaging. Its purpose is to document compliance with the applicable PPWR requirements.

Brand.it does not routinely provide product-specific individual information or complete technical documentation. The PPWR does not establish a general obligation to automatically provide every customer with complete technical files, internal assessments or test reports. Any statutory information and document-production obligations remain unaffected.

No. The PPWR does not provide for CE marking as evidence of packaging conformity.

Not all packaging is subject to such requirements. The PPWR introduces minimum recycled-content requirements particularly for plastic packaging.

These requirements do not already apply from 12 August 2026. As a general rule, they apply from 2030 or from the later application dates specified in the Regulation.

The required recycled-content percentage depends, among other things, on the type and intended use of the relevant plastic packaging. The PPWR also provides for certain exemptions.

The harmonised material labelling requirements under the PPWR do not become mandatory on 12 August 2026.

Under the PPWR, the harmonised labelling requirements will apply no earlier than 12 August 2028. Depending on when the relevant EU implementing acts enter into force, the actual application date may be postponed further.

Until then, national labelling requirements may continue to differ depending on the country, distribution channel, type of packaging and allocation of EPR responsibility.

No. There is no general requirement to display all national disposal symbols or sorting instructions for every country on a single package.

The PPWR aims to introduce a harmonised EU-wide labelling system in the future. Until that system becomes applicable, national labelling requirements may remain relevant depending on the country, distribution channel, type of packaging and EPR responsibility.

EPR stands for Extended Producer Responsibility. It concerns responsibility under waste law for packaging and includes, in particular, registration and reporting obligations as well as further national requirements relating to the financing and organisation of the collection and recovery of packaging waste.

In Germany, this includes, among other things, registration in the LUCID Packaging Register and, where the relevant packaging is subject to system participation, participation in an appropriate system.
